TEANECK, N.J. (AP) — Adonis Burbage fell a point short of his season high with 24 as Central Connecticut State overcame a disappointing night from its best player in beating Northeast Conference foe Fairleigh Dickinson 80-71 Saturday night for its third straight win.
Kyle Vinales, who entered ranked first in the NEC and third in Division I averaging 22.4 points, failed to reach double figures for just the second time this year as he finished with seven points on 3-of-11 shooting.
The Blue Devils (10-11, 6-4) picked him up effectively, with the rest of the team making 24 of 52 from the field. Burbage led the effort by making 8 of 14 field goals, including 3 of 9 3-pointers.
Yves Jules more than doubled his previous career high, scoring 34 points off the bench on 12-of-16 shooting, including 6 of 9 treys, for the Knights (7-16, 2-8).
