MILFORD, Conn. (AP) — The city of Milford is calling on able-bodied men and women to join a shovel brigade to help clear sidewalks in residential neighborhoods.
The shoreline city is among others that are still digging out from the weekend storm that dumped more than 3 feet of snow in some areas.
The volunteers are asked to report with shovels on Friday morning. The goal is to make it safer for children to walk to bus stops when schools re-open.
Mayor Ben Blake said Thursday that the shovel brigade is being organized by city volunteers.
