NEW MILFORD, Conn. (AP) — Connecticut Light & Power is reporting that power has been restored to nearly all customers who lost electricity in western Connecticut when two substations went offline.

Two substations in the area were knocked offline on Monday, cutting electricity to about 17,000 customers. All but three customers had power restored within a couple of hours.

Locations affected included Kent, New Milford, Sherman, Warren and Washington.

A utility spokeswoman said she did not have information about what caused the substations to go offline.end of story marker
