BRISTOL, Conn. (AP) — Bristol police have released the names of a woman killed in an apparent domestic dispute and the man charged in her death.
Police say they found 29-year-old Shenia Walker fatally injured in her apartment off Cypress Street when they responded to a 911 call shortly before 3 a.m. Wednesday. Authorities believe she was stabbed.
Officers took 24-year-old Mario Rivera of Bristol into custody at the scene and charged him with murder and risk of injury to a minor.
Police believe Rivera and Walker were dating and got into an argument. Four children were in the home at the time but weren’t injured.
Walker is being detained on $1.5 million bail. It’s not clear if he has a lawyer.
The chief medical examiner’s office will be performing an autopsy on Walker.
