TORRINGTON, Conn. (AP) — Torrington police have identified a man stabbed to death in the city’s first homicide since 2008.
Authorities say 25-year-old David Vazquez was stabbed at an apartment complex where officers and medical personnel responded at about 3:30 a.m. Sunday. Police say he was pronounced dead at a hospital.
Police haven’t announced any arrests or a motive.
Officials told The Register Citizen of Torrington (http://bit.ly/1iFsjfQ ) that Vazquez was stabbed about an hour and a half after leaving a bar within walking distance of the home where he was found with a chest wound. Police say the suspect apparently knew Vazquez.
Neighbors told the newspaper that Vazquez lived in the apartment with a woman believed to be his girlfriend and the couple argued after returning from the bar.
Police haven’t named any suspects.
