NEW HAVEN, Conn. (AP) — New Haven police are investigating the death of an 8-month-old girl.
Officers responding to a 911 call around 2:10 p.m. Wednesday found the baby unresponsive in the apartment of a neighbor whose help the child’s mother had sought.
The girl was in cardiac arrest when paramedics arrived. She was pronounced dead at Yale-New Haven Hospital.
Police say it’s believed the baby was in the care of her mother, who has been admitted to the hospital for treatment of an undisclosed illness.
The child’s cause of death was not immediately known.
No charges have been filed in the case.
