NORWICH, Conn.—A New York man has been charged with defrauding Connecticut's two casinos by using counterfeit credit cards to obtain more than $40,000 in cash advances.

State police say 31-year-old De Jin Lin of Flushing, N.Y., has been charged with larceny and other crimes.

He was arrested Wednesday by the state police casino unit at the Mohegan Sun Casino.

Police say that Lin used 14 different counterfeit credit cards in 24 cash advances between Feb. 15 and Feb. 19.

Police were alerted when a California man, who had never visited the casino, called Mohegan Sun to ask about a $2,088 transaction on his credit card from the casino.
