NEW YORK—Connecticut schoolkids are getting a warm "thank you" for their big contribution to the New York Cares coat drive.
Saint Gabriel School in Milford, Conn., has won the organization's "Top Youth" category for gathering 700 coats for the needy and delivering them to New York City.
Other big givers include three New York Police Department precincts, the New York Giants football team and a number of leading companies.
New York Cares said Thursday that, in all, it distributed 94,000 coats during its 2007 drive.
