GOSHEN, Conn.—State officials say a 63-year-old man has died after being pulled from Woodridge Lake in Goshen.

The Department of Environmental Protection is investigating after a witness called 911 Thursday afternoon to report that the man had fallen out of a canoe.

He was found in 8 to 10 feet of water. He had been underwater for about 40 minutes and was taken to Charlotte Hungerford Hospital in Torrington, where he was pronounced dead.

State officials are not identifying him until his relatives are notified.
