NEW HAVEN, Conn.—Police have arrested a second suspect in a New Haven home invasion in which a woman was beaten with a baseball bat.

Police say Samuel Evans of New Haven was arrested Saturday at a friend's house and charged in connection with the late-night attack Tuesday on Julia O'Sullivan. The 17-year-old Evans and two others are accused of beating her with a baseball bat, tying her up and burglarizing her house.

The 55-year-old O'Sullivan suffered head injuries and two broken hands and was released from the hospital Wednesday.

Tadd LeClaire, also 17, was arrested Wednesday. Police are seeking a third suspect.

Evans was charged with kidnapping, burglary, robbery, larceny, assault and other offenses. He was scheduled to be arraigned Monday.
