NEW BRITAIN, Conn.—A convicted sex offender who claims he has raped dozens of children gets 10 years in prison for having child pornography on his computer.

New Britain Superior Court Judge Joan Alexander said 31-year-old Paul Grimsley of New Britain needs intensive psychological treatment and is likely to offend again if given a chance. Grimsley also was ordered on Wednesday to register on the state's sex offender list for life.

Grimsley was convicted in 2002 of molesting a child when he lived in Torrington.

He was arrested last fall when a computer repair technician called police after finding hundreds of images on Grimsley's computer of children being sexually abused and tortured.

Prosecutors say Grimsley told probation officers he has raped 58 children since the 1990s.
