NEW LONDON, Conn.—A former employee of St. Bernard High School in Montville has pleaded no contest to charges he stole hundreds of thousands of dollars from the school over a period of several years.

Forty-three-year-old Salvatore Licitra is accused of embezzling more than $841,000 from the Roman Catholic school in the Uncasville section of Montville.

Licitra is expected to get seven years in prison under the agreement with state prosecutors when he's sentenced Aug. 28 in New London Superior Court.

School officials say Licitra held several positions at the school, including management of school bus operations, computer repairs and accounts payable.

He may also be ordered to pay back the money he's accused of stealing.
