WATERFORD, Conn.—A spokesman for the owners of the Millstone nuclear power complex in Waterford says the Unit 2 reactor is back in service after it was shut down by a pump failure over the weekend.
The unit at the Millstone Power Station was shut down Saturday after pumps in a system that recirculates water failed. A Dominion spokesman says hat the reactor was back at full power as of Wednesday night.
On Saturday, the loss of the two pumps in the reactor's feedwater heating system caused an interruption in the flow of water that had been condensed from steam.
A spokeswoman for the Nuclear Regulatory Commission says there was no impact on the public.
There was no effect on Unit 3, which remains at 100 percent power.
