ENFIELD, Conn.—Enfield police have identified a worker who died after falling down an elevator shaft at a construction site.

Police say 54-year-old Brian Millett of the Dayville section of Killingly was working in the shaft between the fourth and fifth floors of a new Hampton Inn when he fell Thursday.

He was pronounced dead a short time after being flown by helicopter to Baystate Medical Center in Springfield.

Officials with the federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration are investigating.

Enfield police say no one saw Millett fall, and they don't consider the incident suspicious.
