NEW YORK—A New York City doctor accused of billing insurance carriers for tests he didn't perform has pleaded not guilty to fraud and larceny charges.

Defense lawyer Alex Bateman says Dr. Yakov Raufov "hasn't committed any fraud whatsoever."

Prosecutors claim Raufov falsely filed insurance claims for nerve studies on 12 patients who had been in motor vehicle accidents.

They say the Queens doctor could face up to four years in prison and the loss of his medical license if he's convicted.
