FARMINGTON, Conn.—Farmington police have arrested a Somers man accused of making nearly 900 lewd phone calls to employees of stores in the Westfarms mall.

Police say 34-year-old Mark Batiste told police a female employee of Banana Republic at the mall had made fun of him.

Police say that to retaliate, Batiste allegedly used his cell phone to make 891 calls, between July 5 and July 16, asking female employees if he could lick their feet and suck their toes.

Batiste is charged him with six counts of second-degree harassment and one count of second-degree breach of peace.

He's scheduled to be arraigned in Hartford Community Court Wednesday.
