Former Foxwoods dealer faces cheating charges

NEW LONDON, Conn. --A former Foxwoods Resort Casino craps dealer is facing new charges in an ongoing investigation into an alleged cheating scam.

Mattie Tarlton was arrested Monday in connection with the alleged scheme in which dealers allegedly paid players for late bets and later collected payment for the favors.

The 42-year-old former dealer faces new charges of cheating at gambling, conspiracy to cheat at gambling and first-degree larceny. The charges were filed when she appeared in New London Superior Court on earlier charges of first-degree larceny and cheating at gambling.

She's accused of overpaying players more than $58,000 during shifts in November and December 2007.

Last week, state police arrested the alleged ringleader, 42-year-old Richard Taylor of Memphis, Tenn. He's charged with conspiracy to commit cheating at gambling, cheating at gambling and first-degree larceny.

A dozen more arrests are expected.
