WATERBURY, Conn.—The family of a 30-year-old Waterbury teacher says he has been found dead in the Bahamas after having disappeared Sunday while on vacation with his brother and some friends.

Relatives told the Republican-American of Waterbury that Tim Massa's body was found Monday night in a harbor near the Atlantis resort and hotel.

The newspaper reports that the U.S. State Department is investigating the case as a possible homicide.

Chris Massa says his two brothers and their friends partied most of Saturday into Sunday morning. He says Tim Massa went back to his hotel room at about 1 a.m., but he was nowhere to be found when the rest of the group returned to the hotel about four hours later.

Tim Massa, a Naugatuck native, was a gym teacher at Waterbury Arts Magnet School.
