SPRINGFIELD, Mass.—A Massachusetts man is undergoing mental evaluation to determine whether he is competent to face Connecticut charges of calling in a bomb threat to Bradley International Airport.

Defense attorney Perman Glenn III says doctors for Springfield District Court will examine 35-year-old Ronderic Finch of Springfield after concern was raised over his mental health.

Finch was arraigned Monday after Connecticut officials sought his extradition to face a terrorism charge. The case was continued to Thursday.

Police and bomb-sniffing dogs searched the Windsor Locks, Conn., airport Friday but didn't find any explosives. Authorities say evidence including cell phone records led them to Finch's home.

His attorney says Finch isn't a terrorist and the alleged threat was not a terrorist act.
