MILFORD, Conn.—Milford's superintendent of schools has been forced into paid administrative leave while local officials investigate sexual harassment allegations against him.
The Board of Education voted unanimously Sunday night to place Harvey Polansky on leave and name Assistant Superintendent Michael Cummings as acting superintendent. The board also directed its lawyer to hire an independent agency to investigate the complaints.
The Connecticut Post and New Haven Register reported in Monday's editions that two female school principals are accusing Polansky of sexually harassing them.
Polansky, who was hired in March 2007, did not attend Sunday's meeting. He did not immediately return a phone message left at his home in Trumbull on Monday.![]()
