WESTPORT, Conn.—A man who died in a weekend car crash in Westport has been identified as a 24-year-old Marine who had returned home in September from a seven-month tour in Iraq.

Police say Charles Mark Rochlin of Westport was a passenger in an SUV that struck a tree on Greens Farms Road at about 2:45 a.m Sunday. Authorities say the driver, 25-year-old Matthew Packer of Westport, was being treated at Norwalk Hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.

The cause of the one-vehicle accident remains under investigation.

Rochlin's family wrote in his obituary that he graduated from Staples High School in 2003 and enlisted in the Marines in March 2008.
