STORRS, Conn.—The University of Connecticut's search for its next president has kicked off with the creation of a committee to lead the efforts.
UConn Board of Trustees Chairman Lawrence McHugh announced appointments to the committee last week, and it held its first organizational meeting last week.
It includes trustees, UConn employees, alumni, a student leader and state and business officials. McHugh said the search is expected to take several months.
Interim President Philip Austin has been leading UConn since June 11 and will stay on until the new president starts his or her tenure. That person will succeed Michael Hogan, who left to become president of the University of Illinois.
