HARTFORD, Conn.—Jerry Farrell, Republican candidate for Connecticut secretary of the state, says he has qualified for public campaign financing.
Farrell announced Thursday that he will file for the grant with the State Elections Enforcement Commission in preparation of the November general election.
If approved, Farrell would join Democratic attorney general candidate George Jepsen as the only statewide candidates without a primary election to receive public funding.
Farrell, who is the state's commissioner of consumer protection, will face the winner of the Aug. 10 primary between Democrats Denise Merrill and Gerry Garcia.![]()
