HARTFORD, Conn.—State lawmakers say they're having trouble finding new members for the Citizen's Ethics Advisory Board, which has three vacancies among its nine jobs.
The board had to cancel a scheduled meeting last month because one of the remaining six members was out of the country on vacation and it did not have enough members to meet lawfully.
It enforces laws regulating public officials' behavior.
State Senate Majority Leader Martin Looney, Senate Minority Leader John McKinney and House Minority Leader Lawrence Cafero say they've been trying to find the right candidates.
McKinney says many legal restrictions on who can serve make it hard to find replacements.
The law says members must be registered voters in Connecticut but can't hold public office or even make political contributins.
