Conn. student hit-and-run death still under review
DANBURY, Conn.—Danbury police say a quick arrest is unlikely in their investigation of a hit-and-run collision that killed a Western Connecticut State University student.
Police tell the News-Times of Danbury ( http://bit.ly/rskwnx) that the driver, who was a fellow student, contacted police several days after the Nov. 22 collision that killed 19-year-old Dong Lin of Brookfield.
Danbury police Capt. Thomas Wendel says the driver has been interviewed and is being cooperative, but the investigation remained open Friday.
Wendel says the investigation is complex because police must obtain maps, calculate distances and speed, and learn other information for an arrest warrant if it's decided that criminal charges are appropriate.
Dong was crossing White Street near Western Connecticut State's campus when he was hit on the last day of classes before the Thanksgiving holiday.
