New Haven police investigate year's 33rd homicide

NEW HAVEN, Conn.—New Haven police are investigating the city's 33rd homicide of the year.
A man who was shot in the chest was found lying on a sidewalk Friday morning in the city's Fair Haven section. Police say the victim is from West Haven but his name has not been released.
City police are investigating another pre-dawn shooting in which the victim received a gunshot wound to the stomach while in a vehicle. He was in stable condition at a hospital.
There was no indication the shootings are connected.
