NEW HAVEN, Conn.—A New Haven man awaiting trial for allegedly wounding another man in a shooting last year is facing a murder charge for a 2010 killing outside a city bar.

Police obtained an arrest warrant for 25-year-old Jermaine Harris on Thursday in connection with the shooting death of 26-year-old Edmund Jackson outside Humphrey's Bar, which has since closed. Harris faces murder and weapons charges.

Harris is detained on $1 million bail in the September wounding of 26-year-old Marvin Jones, who was shot multiple times.

The New Haven Register reports ( http://bit.ly/zogZNE) that Harris also shot and wounded a teenager when he was 16 in 2003 and was sentenced to five years in prison. Harris was shot himself last August in the city's Hill neighborhood.

Harris' lawyer didn't immediately return a message Friday.
