Loud talk leads to Conn. prostitution charges
NEW MILFORD, Conn.—Authorities say a man with a hearing problem allegedly asked a prostitute to speak loudly while negotiating a deal in a restaurant, prompting other diners to call police in New Milford.
The Republican-American ( http://bit.ly/OxXZSG) reported Saturday that 45-year-old Michael Carrier of Bristol was ordering up more than just food at the Friendly's Restaurant and was charged with soliciting a prostitute. Forty-six-year-old Linda Ottanio-King of New Milford was charged with prostitution.
Police were called after other restaurant customers overheard the two discussing the transaction. Carrier later told police that he had a hearing problem and needed Ottanio-King to speak loudly.
