Shepard Fairey, the street artist famous for his iconic "Hope" poster of Barack Obama, pleaded guilty to three vandalism charges in Boston Municipal Court.
As part of a plea deal, Fairey agreed to ban himself from carrying stickers, posters, wheat paste, brushes, and other graffiti tools while in Suffolk County for the next two years. Eleven other outstanding vandalism charges against Fairey will be dismissed.
The artist, who told the Globe he's been arrested at least 14 times, had more than 30 charges filed against him in Brighton, Roxbury, and Boston municipal courts earlier this year.
