Senator Edward M. Kennedy visited families of immigrants at St. James Church in New Bedford.

That day, two teams from the Massachusetts Department of Social Services arrived in Texas to interview detained immigrants who were sent there after the raid. There was concern that some immigrants might have been separated from families who needed their care.
