Fredy Zepeda died after he was hit by a driver as he loaded his 1-year-old son into a car. Zepeda's family established a fund in his name in order to raise money to send his body back to Guatemala.

Brandon carried his father Fredy Zepeda's photo during his funeral procession in Atescatempa, Guatemala, on Thursday, July 30. Zepeda moved to the United States when Brandon was 9 months old and did not return to Guatemala until his death. Brandon never met his father.
