University of Rhode Island graduate student Erin Collings worked to haul in fish during a weekly cruise on the Cap’n Bert in Narragansett Bay and Rhode Island coastal waters. The study, ongoing since the 1950s, has shown a decline in northern fish species such as winter flounder and a rise in southern ones such as scup in Narragansett Bay.
