Turner was a staunch supporter of Dianne Wilkerson, who resigned from the state Senate on Nov. 19 after being indicted in a federal corruption inquiry. Last month, he apologized for saying that Wilkerson's replacement, Sonia Chang-Diaz, gained much of her funding from "white women."
