Firefighters battle the early-morning fire in Gloucester that destroyed an apartment building and a synagogue. One resident of the apartment building was killed in the blaze, but all other residents were accounted for.

Three firefighters were slightly injured fighting the fire they slipped on ice. They were treated and released.
