The "Sea Queen" ferry pulled into Great Cranberry Island, Maine on Thursday as Mount Desert Island appeared on the horizon.

Drunk driving, break-ins, and recreational gunfire have become too common for some of the island's 50 self-reliant residents, leading them to consider establishing their first police department.
