When the California couple disappeared in 1985 some friends believed they had gone to Europe. Lydia Marano, who ran a science fiction bookstore where Linda Sohus worked, received a postcard (at left) from the couple who were supposedly in Paris but investigators are considering whether it was part of a scheme to cover up a crime.
