BIDDEFORD, Maine (AP) — Police say a Biddeford man has suffered a gunshot wound to his knee after accidentally shooting himself while cleaning his gun.

Deputy Chief JoAnne Fisk said Donald Williamson was cleaning a .45-caliber firearm at his home Tuesday morning when the gun discharged.

Fisk said he was taken to Southern Maine Medical Center for treatment.end of story marker
