JAY, Maine (AP) — Police are looking for a Maine man who’s wanted on multiple charges and is considered dangerous after he fled on foot following a traffic stop.
Police say 29-Michael Gatcomb of Jay ran across a field into some woods in Jay when officers stopped a pickup truck he was a passenger in Friday afternoon. Officials say he may be armed.
After Gatcomb fled, Jay and Wilton police, the Franklin County Sheriff’s Department, state police and the U.S. Border Patrol searched for him without success.
Police say Gatcomb is wanted on charges in two counties, including domestic assault, failure to stop for an officer, criminal speed and violation of conditions of release. He is currently out of jail on bail for felony theft.
