Multi-car accident on I-295 in Falmouth

FALMOUTH, Maine (AP) — A snowstorm is being blamed for a multi-car pileup on Interstate 295 southbound in Falmouth, Maine, that backed up traffic.

State police say up to 19 vehicles were involved, and that there were three to four minor injuries.

The crash was reported at 7:25 a.m. Friday just north of Exit 11. It was snowing and the highway was slippery.

State police say that one lane of traffic was reopened by 9. Cars were being towed from the area.end of story marker
