PORTLAND, Maine (AP) — Sen. Susan Collins will be serving up some Maine staples when President Barack Obama meets with Senate Republicans next week.

It’s Collins’ turn to host the GOP caucus luncheon on the day Obama pays a visit.

Her office says Thursday’s luncheon will feature Maine lobster salad, potato chips supplied by Fox Family Potato Chips from Aroostook County and Maine wild blueberry pie.

Obama seems to like lobster, having dined on it in Maine and at Martha’s Vineyard, and serving it during his inaugural luncheon. Collins spokesman Kevin Kelley tells the Portland Press Herald that Collins hopes her menu of Maine staples will ‘‘help inspire the kind of cooperation that is desperately needed in Washington.’’end of story marker
