BATH, Maine (AP) — Officials say a teenage boy had to be plucked from an ice floe after falling into the frigid Kennebec River in Bath.

Bath Fire Department Capt. Mike Clarke tells WMTW-TV (http://bit.ly/YTqjDO ) the teen was riding one ice floe when he fell into the river on Saturday afternoon. Clarke says the boy was able to climb onto another ice floe.

Rescuers pulled the stranded boy closer to shore then used a ladder to get him back on dry land. Clarke says the boy was in good spirits and not suffering from hypothermia after his rescue.
