RANGELEY, Maine (AP) — Drivers have resumed their search for three snowmobilers who crashed through ice in Rangeley Lake last winter.
Maine State Police and the Maine Warden Service were focusing efforts on the area where the three machines went through the ice on Dec. 31. Recovery efforts for 40-year-old Ken Henderson, 43-year-old Glenn Henderson of Sabattus and 41-year-old John Spencer of Litchfield continued until late February.
The resumption of the search on Tuesday included the use of an underwater sonar and cadaver dogs.
Previous searches with an underwater camera and sonar spotted two of the men’s snowmobiles. The snowmobilers are believed to have gone in the water on the same night a Yarmouth woman was killed when she accidentally rode her snowmobile onto the partially frozen lake.
