The Penobscot Nation is doubling the reward for information leading to the arrest of the person responsible for the shooting death of an eagle. The eagle was found last week near Hermon Pond in Hermon. Maine Operation Game Thief, a nonprofit organization that works with the Maine Warden Service, previously offered a $1,000 reward. People with information are asked to call 800-ALERT-US. The warden service said the Penobscot tribe is offering another $1,000 because of its concern about the welfare of bald eagles in Maine.
