ORONO, Maine (AP) — The University of Maine football squad is facing rival New Hampshire at its first-ever home playoff game in the program’s 121-year history.
The No. 5 Black Bears and the University of New Hampshire square off Saturday in the second round of the FCS playoffs at Alfond Stadium.
The Black Bears are seeking revenge for the 24-6 loss they suffered to the Wildcats at the end of the regular season last month.
New Hampshire beat Lafayette College 45-7 last weekend in the first round of the playoffs to advance and take on UMaine.
The Black Bears’ high seed earned them a first round bye.
