PITTSFIELD, Maine—Cianbro's chief executive officer will become the first chairman who is not a member of the Cianchette family, which started the company in 1949.

Peter G. Vigue has been the company's president since 1991 and chief executive officer since 2000. He retains the title of CEO. His son, Peter A. "Andi" Vigue, becomes president and chief operating officer of the company's heavy construction arm, Cianbro Corp.

Ival R. "Bud" Cianchette, Cianbro's outgoing chairman, will continue to be an active member of the board as chairman emeritus.

The employee-owned company has more than 2,000 workers in 15 states and annual sales of $425 million. All three moves take place on Jan. 1.
