Man accused of stabbing girlfriend in Bangor

BANGOR, Maine—A Bangor man has been charged with assault in the stabbing of his 22-year-old girlfriend.

Police arrested 33-year-old David Archer after the Saturday night incident at a home on Hudson Street in Bangor.

Thee woman suffered stab wounds to her stomach and underwent surgery at Eastern Maine Medical Center. Her name was not released.

Archer is scheduled to appear in court Monday.
