BANGOR, Maine—Police have made an arrest in the death of a 63-year-old man whose body was found over the weekend at a makeshift campsite in Bangor.

Police responding to a "911" call about an assault on a homeless man found the body of Clyde Worster. The discovery was made Sunday in a wooded area known as "The Pines" that runs along Interstate 95 near the Hammond Street exit.

Investigators said 56-yaer-old Stephen James of Bangor was arrested Monday on a manslaughter charge and will likely make his initial court appearance on Tuesday.

Detective Sgt. Paul Kenison said James and Worster got into a fight that led to Worster's death.

Police said a post-mortem examination was completed by the state Medical Examiner's Office, but the exact manner and cause of death was not released.
