Ship terminal in Maine's largest city ready for business
PORTLAND, Maine—Portland's $21 million terminal for cruise ships and ferries is ready for business.
Mayor Ed Suslovic and other dignitaries including a delegation from Yarmouth, Nova Scotia, helped to dedicate the Ocean Gateway terminal on Friday.
The terminal will serve the Cat ferry that runs between Portland and Yarmouth, starting later this month. Cruise ships also will be berthing there this summer.
Eventually, the city plans to build another $7 million berth at the terminal to accommodate the world's largest cruise ships.![]()
