Machinists, Bath Iron Works to begin contract negotiations Monday
BATH, Maine—Bath Iron Works and its largest union are set to begin negotiations on a new contract today.
Negotiations are moving forward despite turmoil in the Machinists' Local S6, which was placed into receivership in March over accusations against the leadership including financial improprieties and pornography on computers.
President Mike Keenan remains suspended from union activities, but the union says that won't stop negotiations. The current contract expires at midnight on May 18.![]()
