CARRABASSETT VALLEY, Maine—Dozens of skiers hit the slopes Monday for the season's final day of skiing at Sugarloaf ski resort.

The mountain was the last in the eastern U.S. to close for the season, said spokesman Ethan Austin.

For the final day, the resort had 20 trails serviced by one chairlift as temperatures rose into the mid-50s.

Sugarloaf got 224 inches of snow during the season, including 8 inches last week.
